Notes about Henry Grinberg
Grinberg Family History (from daughter Pauline Reese):
First to come to America, at age 17, in 1881 Came because of pogrom--found his house ransacked and decided it was time to go Was sent to rich relatives in Minsk who gave him the money for theā trip. We think the rich relative was Shachni's brother who served the Czar. We think this family went to Brazil during the Russian Revolution. Started a key and lock store in Homestead Lived with the Goldsteins on Roth St. Became a registered plumber, the 51st in Pittsburgh A man he worked for vouched for his credibility and he was able to borrow $500 which he gave to Morris and Meyer, his brothers, to help them get started when they came to America Was ambitious, serious, and highly respected by his brothers and sisters
Wife--Charlotte Hersch Grinberg. Died 1947.
