Two avenues to explore: - Tracing siblings via tracing Chaskell and Bella. - Tracing his uncle -- whose name may or may not be Efrom Waks. Hard to read. - You can also call his son's wife who may or may not still be alive. And may or may not know something. Lila P. Margolis. Numbers for her: 561.743.6230; 412.682.2454
The evidence points to Samuel Margolis of Grodno marrying an unrelated Litvak who immigrated to Homestead whose maiden name was Margolis.
Yes, the older Samuel Margolis I know well. Got lots on him. My guess is that he is brothers with Minnie's father Mendel, but I can't prove it.

Re. the Margolis clan:
Several comments, which don't prove relation, but strongly indicate it. And some additional avenues for research.
Note: In Veterans Compensation Application of Sam Jr. (I'll call the younger one Jr., older one from Homestead, I'll call Sr.) her writes that his father Chaskel Margolis is from Province of Wolkowski, State of Grodno, Poland. Mendel Margolis was born in Galileuska, Russia; per Hatte Blajer, this is Galilee Colony, Volkovysk, Grodno.
Also: Sam Margolis Jr.'s passage to the USA was paid by his uncle. Hard to read. But I now realize that uncle was Ephraim Marks (or in 1910 Census record: "Ephrahaus"). This same Ephraim Marks was also the signatory of Sam Margolis' Sr's 24 Sep. 1906 Petition for Naturalization. Who was Ephraim Marks, can we trace his descendants and what was exact relationship between him and the Margolis family?
Bottom line: Can't prove it -- gravestones might well help with this as would tracing descendants -- but I have a hunch that Efraim Marks, Sam Margolis, Mendel Margolis and Chaskel Margolis (father of Sam Jr.) were brothers. And that Sam Jr. married his first cousin Minnie, daughter of Mendel.
And now I'm officially retiring from Marks/Margolis family research. Let me know what you find out in the end... 🙂
