R=L? The 1906 Homestead city directory lists a Richard Jacobson living at 530 Jacobson. This is the only Jacobson living in Homestead at this time. (No surprise, since David was on the other side of the river.) The 1908 city directory lists R.L. Jacobson as a grocer at 530 Dickson (and no other Jacobsons). The 1910 city directory lists Rebecca, Fannie, and Louis Jacobson at 530 Dickson, which is still a grocery. This matches the 1910 census, which has those three at that address along with the rest of the children. Also, the plate for L. Jacobson's grocery, which Blair showed me, has the year of 1910 and the address of 530 Dickson. So... it seems pretty clear that Louis Jacobson, grandfather of Marshall and Blair, went by the name Richard early in his time in the U.S.?! I have no idea where he would have gotten Richard from (his Hebrew name was Eliezer).
