Sgt. Jerry Y. Hirsch husband of Eleanor Levin Hirsch and son oT Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hirsch, of 1623 Centre Avenue, has recently received an honorable discharge from the Army of the United States after 3 years service both here and in the European Theatre of Operations. At the time of his discharge he was a holder of the Purple Heart for wounds received in action, the distinguished Unit Badge, the Bronze Arrowhead, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. He and Mrs. Hirsch will reside at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Levin, of 6109 Stanton' Avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Levin, of Stanton Avenue, announce the marriage of their daughter, Eleanor Lorraine, to Jerry Yale Hirsch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hirsch, of Center Avenue. The wedding took place in the study of Rabbi Benjamin A. Lichter on Wednesday, March 7. The bride attended the University of Pittsburgh and the groom is a graduate of Duquesne University. Ha returned last August from the European theatre of operations and has been reassigned to Ashville, N. C. He is the holder of the Purple Heart and Presidential Citation.

HIRSCH—Benjamin Hirsch, 72, owner of a religious book store at 1623 Center Avenue for 45 years, died September 29. He lived at 2240 Murray Avenue, Squirrel Hill. A resident of Pittsburgh since 1902, he was a member of the Zionists and the American Jewish Congress. Survivors are his wife, Anna; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Mich and Miss Sylvia Hirsch; two sons, Meyer and Jerry; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Rosen-field; a brother, Sam Hirsch, of Baltimore, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held September 30 at Blank Brothers, Brothers, Forbes Street and Craft Forbes Street and Craft Avenue. Burial in Beth Shalom Cemetery, Millvale.
